WCLL Playing Rules

The Women's Collegiate Lacrosse League (WCLL) plays US Lacrosse rules except for the following:

- The WCLL will play 25 minute running halves, and clock will not stop after goals.

- There will be a stopped clock on every whistle in the last 2 minutes of each half.

- If there is a tie game after regulation there will be a coin toss for choice of ends and a 5 minute rest, then two 3 minute stop clock (clock stops on all whistles) sudden victory overtime periods. If no score occurs after both 3 minute overtimes, teams will have 5 minutes rest, switch ends and continue playing two 3 minute sudden victory overtime periods until someone scores. Between each set of two overtime periods there will be a 5 minute rest period. There are no ties.

- Teams must play a minimum of eight games against eight different opponents to qualify for the playoffs and have a winning record.

- Teams must notify opposing team within 48 hours or more to cancel a game. Any team not adhering to the 48-hour rule will forfeit. If they cannot get a hold of the team's captain then they must contact commissioner and assignor. Any team forfeiting 3 or more games will be asked to forfeit the season.

- If a team cannot field 12 players they may play short. Team short players may decide to forfeit game and borrow players from opponent and play game as a scrimmage.

- It is the responsibility of the visiting team to ask about uniform colors. Because we do not require two sets of uniforms, it is a good idea for teams to have pinnies or scrimmage vests in case both teams have the same color uniforms. The visiting team must wear contrasting pinnies.

- All scores must be called or e-mailed in by the HOME team each Sunday for games played that week. If the score isn't reported it didn't happen. It is also the responsibility of the host team to call in all scores from their play day. So please consult the official for each game played.

- All matters regarding team and personal conduct as well as decisions on tie breakers and other league matters will be handled by the commissioner.
